Georgia, Tbilisi-Vashlovani-Tbilisi

All right guys, now pay attention. This track is serious in every aspect. It's a 3 day round trip from Tbilisi, around Vasholvani national park, and back to Tbilisi.
Vashlovani is located on the far south of Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan. It's a desert area and very remote. Please take care of yourselves and your bikes if you plan to take this route. The track is not hard, but the area is so remote, that it might take days before anyone finds you in case something happens. On the other side, it's just an AWSOME ride, the best one Georgia can offer from my perspective.
Now, the track starts in Tbilisi, trough town of Dedoplitskaro. It's important to remember that in order to visit Vashlovani national park, you need a permit which you can obtain at the office in Dedoplitskaro. It's exact location is marked in the GPX. Note that the office is opened only on work days from 8AM to 2PM. Make sure you plan ahead and get there on time to avoid waiting the next day to get permits. Do not try to avoid this, because there are ranger check points along the way, on which ranger note that you entered the national park. Once there, you can get maps of the park and all the info you might need. The office itself is really nice, the people are great, and they speak some English.
And DO NOT forget to get petrol before you go!!!! That's the first, and the last petrol station on the track.
Once you got the permits, you can continue to the village of Kasritskali. The road to there is mostly paved, but very, very bad. From there, the wilderness starts. From there you enter the national park, heading to Mijnis Kure. It's a kind of adventure camp site located on Alazani river, the natural border with neighboringAzerbaijan. You can spend a night there, catch some rest. It's a wonderful peace of land.
From there you head west along the border with Azerbaijan, then north trough Datvis Khevi (Bears canyon), and back to Dedoplitskaro, trough Kasritskali. Just before you get to Dedeplitskaro, there's a village called Japaridze. There's a petrol station there, so fill up your tanks. If you want to visit Tahti Tepa mud volcanoes, you can turn left on gravel road at the petrol station, and follow the track to the volcanoes. They are really something, a true wonder of nature. Once done with that, you head back the same way to Japaridze, then Dedopitskaro, and back to Tbilisi.
It's all in the GPX track here.
