Trans-Mass To Hampster (TMAToH Trail)

TMAToH Trail Long - The "full" ride, this track spans 153 miles. It starts immediately where PDR and TMT end in Greenfield MA, and winds through a lot of Mass and a little bit of NH until it reaches Hollis NH at the start of the Hampster. Notable spots include Wendell State Forest and Rutland State Park, both of which provide lots of fun back roads riding. Keep in mind the gates for these parks may not be open at all times, I don't really know if they close, but every time I've been through (probably 10 times now) they're open during daylight hours. This track also passes through few towns with gas, so make sure you fill in Greenfield or Hollis! Note that there are a few unmaintained roads along the way, the roughest of which being Plains Road just outside Greenfield (sandy) and Prospect Hill Road in Harvard Forest (an old logging road it seems).

TMAToH Trail Short - The abbreviated ride, this track spans only 105 miles. It also starts in Greenfield MA, and overlays the long route until Miller's Falls, at which point it peels off into an almost entirely separate ride, following the MA and NH border, until it reaches the end around Lyndeborough NH. Notable spots include a quick stop at the Connecticut River, the dirt roads surrounding Franklin Pierce University, and the back roads around Annett State Forest in Jaffrey NH. All of this track is on public roads, so there should be no worries about gated parks, and it also passes through a few towns, so no worries about gas. Note that there are a couple of unmaintained section of road, notably at Plains Road just outside Greenfield as stated above (sandy), and at Brush Valley Road in Warwick MA (a bit bumpy).

TMAToH Trail Short to Long Connector - This track connects the Long and Short tracks above around the halfway points of both tracks. It connects Phillipston MA to Winchendon MA, with gas available along this route. Notable spots in this ride include the Templeton Development Center, which has a beautiful overlook of Mount Monadnock, and Lake Dennison and Birch Hill Dam, an extremely fun dirt ride (with two big jumps on the Birch Hill Dam side if you dare).

TMAToH Trail Short Castle Shortcut - I included this because it was kind of an interesting detour. This track is a bypass of Winchendon MA and a small portion of Rindge NH for the short track, but which passes by a "castle" (a modern interpretation of one anyways) and a private reservoir owned and rented out by a member of the NH state house of representatives. Some of the roads here are marked "private", but they are actually part of the Sunridge development in Rindge NH. I'll let you be the judge on whether to traverse these roads or not.
