This 64.9 mile loop is a destination ride from Churchville, Maryland to Fishing Creek Road in Quarryville, Pennsylvania and back to Churchville. If you're just trying to get to the dirt and stream crossings then skip the loop and get to Fishing Creek Road. Everything else is pavement, but the PA portions offer scenic views of the Amish countryside. The stream crossings are on elevated concrete to make the water passable, so be careful as the algae buildup makes the concrete slippery. My route shows 7 stream crossings, but only 3, 4, and 7 are water and the others are bridges. While the water level changes with rainfall, it is usually about 4-6 inches deep. I rode through slowly and my boots got splashed but not submerged. For north east Maryland, this is one of the best local ADV destinations. It can be linked to my other route ADV Susquehanna 1 for about 4 hours of mixed pavement and dirt.
