Nordkapp - Altafjord - Lofoten

The road to Nordkapp winds along the Arctic Ocean and eventually ascends up the mountains, so beware of extreme weather and gale force winds. Nordkapp itself is just a rock; the cliff views are spectacular, but not exactly exceptional to Norway. It's just a matter of ticking a box in your destinations list and getting a badass sticker really - I'm happy we went there, but it will most likely be the last time, too.

Best thing about Nordkapp? Once you've checked in, wherever you go afterwards is going to be South!!🙂

As we got to Nordkapp via Finland, next up was the road along the Arctic Ocean. It's incredibly beautiful - turquoise blue waters, idyllic fjords, and pristine nature; but do get proper gear for harsh weather folks - I was freezing my butt off even though it was mid - August.

We headed down along the west coast towards Lofoten taking the stunning views in. Norway is everything you expect it to be - amazing riding, dramatic landscape, iconic red houses, picturesque villages, and fishing boats; you don't have to look for beautiful panoramas - they're everywhere you go. But because it's so accessible and easy, Norway is full of tourists. Nordkapp is one big BMW GS rally followed by endless hordes of German and Danish camper vans; all the famous sights are packed with holidaymakers - forget peace and quiet, you'll be sharing tent space and fighting for a good photo shot with a bunch of other bikers, Japanese tourists and German RV drivers. Plus, Norway is probably the most expensive country in the whole EU (it's either on the same level or more expensive than Switzerland), so be prepared to seriously blow your budget. Fuel is over 1.70 Euro, a small can of beer is around 10 Euro, and a gas station hamburger will cost you about 8 Euro - camp wild and cook your own food if you're planning to stay in Norway for a longer period of time.

Lofoten Islands are as idyllic as they get; the weather is a little milder, and camping is available everywhere. Lofoten is famous for fishing so if that's you passion, make sure you bring your fishing gear!
After riding the Lofoten road to A (the westernmost point of the isles), you can either go back the same way or take the Bodo ferry (around 70 euro).

Kelias į Nordkapą driekiasi palei Arkties vandenyną ir galiausiai kyla į kalnus, todėl klimato sąlygos ten atšiaurios net vasarą. Pats Nordkapas tėra niūri pilka uola - ir nors vaizdai į vandenyną išties įspūdingi, tokių ir dar labiau žadą atimančių panoramų netrūksta visoje Norvegijoje. Tiesą sakant, Nordkapas tėra taškas, kuriame reikia tik 'atsižymėti' ir nusipirkti vietinį lipduką - daugiau priežasčių ten važiuoti nėra. Ir mums buvo smagu, kad 'atsižymėjom'; bet ar kada nors grįšim? Abejoju.

Geriausia Nordkapo savybė ta, kad kur bevažiuotum po to, vistiek važiuosi į pietus🙂

Pernakvoję Altafjord kempinge (rekomenduoju: kaip Norvegijai, nebaisios kainos - už rąstinį namuką nakčiai sumokėjom 20 eurų), pasukom link Lofoteno salų. Norvegijos šiaurės vakarų pakrantė iš tiesų įspūdinga - turkio mėlynumo Arkties vanduo, žali fjordai, idiliški žvejų kaimeliai, namukai raudonais stogais, vingiuoti keliai ir nepakartojama gamta. Bet kadangi viskas taip Disney gražu, prieinama ir patogu, Norvegija yra tiesiog užkimšta turistais: Nordkapas yra vienas didelis BMW GS ralis, vokiškų ir daniškų kemperių knibždėlynas ir japonų turistų ordos, todėl ramybės ir vienatvės čia tikėtis neverta. Be to, Norvegija yra be galo brangi šalis (įsivaizduokite vokiškas kainas ir padauginkite iš trijų), todėl čia užsibūti ilgiau yra paprasčiausiai per brangu.

Lofoteno salynas - nepakartojamo grožio; bet ir čia tiek dėl vietos palapinei, tiek dėl geresnio fotokadro tenka kariauti su tuntais žioplinėjančių turistų. Tiesa, Lofotenas garsus savo žvejyba, todėl jei mėgstate meškerioti -įsimeskite žvejybos įrangą!Aplankius vakariausią Lofoteno tašką A, galima ara grįžti atgal tuo pačiu keliu, arba persikelti į Bodo (keltas kainuoja 70 eurų) ir traukti toliau į pietus.
